Technology Leaders Special Interest Group
Ameet Bhattacharya is Senior Vice President of Healthcare and Partnerships at iVEDiX, a innovative leader in mobile analytics and workflow solutions focused on creating an extraordinary experience interacting with data. Ameet has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry and has enabled vast partner networks for a variety of global operations & organizations. Before joining iVEDIX, Ameet served as Director, vLab Technology at Skillsoft Corporation from 2000 to 2014 where he was responsible for product development & strategy, sales, marketing and services for an advanced technical online training delivery group. Ameet joined Skillsoft through the company’s acquisition of Element K in 2011. While at Element K, Ameet led the development and execution of the company’s offshore software and content development strategy in India. Prior to Element K, Ameet held various leadership roles at Xerox Corporation from 1992 to 2000. Ameet holds a MBA from University Of Rochester, MS in Electrical Engineering from University Of Rochester and BS in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Ameet leads the DR Technology Leaders SIG, which is focused on raising awareness and educating the Rochester community about emerging technologies and providing a forum for sharing ideas and concerns.
Brian is an accomplished business professional with over a decade of experience in Human Resources and Business Strategy, with a specific focus in Talent Acquisition. He is the Regional Director of Operations with Superior Group, a leading privately held staffing firm headquartered in Western New York that employs thousands in the region. Brian supports business growth by driving service delivery for clients in 9 major markets in the Northeast as well as Toronto. His expertise as a workforce consultant has impacted the growth of many local and national firms, including several fortune 500 firms. Brian holds a BS in Business Administration from SUNY Cortland. Brian is currently President and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) Member with Digital Rochester. As President, Brian works with the Board of Directors and ELT to determine DR’s strategy and deliver our mission to strengthen and grow the region’s technology community. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Rochester Regional Photonics Cluster.
Lisa Martinez DeVinney
Director of DR Corporate Member Relations
Lisa has lived in Rochester, NY since 1998, but was raised in Southern California and Northern Virginia. Prior to moving to Rochester, she worked in Washington D.C. at the American Red Cross’ National Headquarters, as well as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where she was involved in educating the Hispanic community on important health issues. In her role as a Recruitment Manager in the Adult and Graduate programs at Roberts Wesleyan College, she enjoys helping adult students make their educational dreams a reality. Her interests and activities focus on higher education, faith, family, Hispanic, and women’s issues. Lisa also serves on the Board of the Rochester Hispanic Business Association (RHBA), an affiliate of the Rochester Chamber of Commerce, as well as on the Executive Board of the New York State Transfer and Articulation Association (NYSTAA). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Biola University and a Master’s degree in Strategic Leadership from Roberts Wesleyan College.
As Director of DR’s Corporate Member Relations, Lisa meets with corporate members to understand their business goals and ensures that they maximize their DR member benefits to help reach those goals.
Lisa has served as Digital Rochester’s Director of Operations since 2004. Prior to Digital Rochester, Lisa’s career included extensive experience in business operations, marketing communications, product marketing, solutions marketing, product launch and program management. Lisa is the Executive Director and an Executive Leadership Team member with Digital Rochester. Lisa’s role includes working closely with all Board members to meet DR’s Mission and Vision. Lisa is responsible for the operations management of Digital Rochester and serves as the key focal point for Board members, volunteers, committees and community organizations.
Digital Marketing Special Interest Group
Karl Heberger is the Chief Media Strategist at Mason Digital, a full-service digital marketing firm in Penfield, NY. He has over fifteen years of experience building strategic and results-focused digital marketing solutions for clients in a wide array of industries. While well rounded in a multitude of digital marketing tools, platforms, and techniques; Karl’s focus on analytics has proven to be a differentiator for a growing list of clients interested in measurable and accountable advertising initiatives.
Karl leads DR’s Digital Marketing SIG, he is responsible for developing events that help educate DR members and the business community at large on topics and techniques in a fast-paced and ever-evolving industry. His goal is to simplify many complex technologies and concepts in order to empower marketing professionals, business owners, and executives through his work with DR and his regular column in the RBJ on the topic of digital marketing.
Healthcare Technology Special Interest Group
Travis Masonis serves as CIO & Vice President of Information Technology at Jewish Senior Life. He previously worked at Nicholas H. Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY, where he had been the Director of IT Infrastructure for the several years. Travis is also a member of the advisory panel for healthsystemcio.com. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rochester Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Information Technology and earned his Master of Science in Health Informatics Administration at Roberts Wesleyan College.
Travis leads the DR Healthcare Technology SIG which focuses on emerging technologies, best practices, governance, and innovation in Healthcare Technology. The goal of this group is to provide an educational, interactive, and collaborative forum, through its events, to foster growth and learning as it relates to Healthcare Technology in the Rochester community.
Nicole Mahoney is President of Break the Ice Media, a marketing communications firm focused on helping small- to mid-sized businesses grow through effective marketing programs. She has over 20 years of experience in marketing and business management and has owned several well-known small businesses in the Rochester area and has worked with dozens more. She holds a MA in Communication from SUNY Brockport and a BA in Business Administration from RIT. Nicole is currently Vice President and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) Member with Digital Rochester. As Vice President, Nicole works with the Board of Directors and ELT to determine DR’s strategy and deliver our mission to strengthen and grow the region’s technology community.
Director of Major Events
Francine Miller is a Talent Acquisition Manager at Paychex. She has over twenty five years of experience within recruiting, along with experience in learning and development. Francine recently received her Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and applied those techniques to improve a significant process that benefited her department along with demonstrating a significant savings for Paychex. Francine is responsible for the overall management of the Paychex Talent Acquisition Systems and Programs, she also manages a team of Recruiters that support the Corporate functions in Rochester.
Francine is DR’s Director of Major Events. In this role, Francine plans and executes DR’s two signature events: Technology Woman of the Year (April) and the GREAT Awards (September).
Director of Technology Infrastructure
Peter is the president of PSquared Digital, a digital marketing firm that helps business generate real business value from their digital marketing efforts. Peter is a 25-year veteran from the ad agency industry and has been involved in Internet marketing since the early 1990s. He was part of the team that built the original dupont.com web site in 1993, bought his first banner ad in 1996 (for Kodak film)! and was one of the first 100 people certified in the Google AdWords program in 2004. Peter’s experience brings together a unique combination of business development, account management, technology and strategic planning skills. Peter provides an active voice to the internet marketing community, blogging and writing for iMedia, presenting at an array of conferences (including MediaPost & iMedia) as well as providing specific sessions on mobile, social, search and other forms of internet marketing.
Director of Finance
Andrew D. Pond, CPA (Drew), is a Manager in the Auditing and Accounting Practice of Freed Maxick CPAs, P.C. where he is responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, supervision and completion of client engagements. During his professional career, Drew has obtained a broad background in the manufacturing, health care, technology, service, retail, employee benefit plan, and not-for-profit industries. He has extensive experience with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulatory and accounting matters.
As the Director of Finance for Digital Rochester, and a member of DR’s Executive Leadership Team, Drew helps to manage the financial sustainability of the organization. He provides support to all of DR’s Special Interest Groups and Operational Programs to monitor and ensure DR’s financial goals are met.
Women In Technology Special Interest Group
Laura Segave is Program Manager at United Technologies supporting Access Control System product development using agile methodologies. She has held business and information technology leadership positions in corporate, healthcare, higher education, and not-for-profit environments. Laura serves as an adjunct faculty member at Roberts Wesleyan College in the Master of Science in Health Informatics program. She is involved in various community board and leadership roles. Laura has an MBA and Master of Science degree from RIT and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Laura is Past-Board-President of Digital and currently serves on the board of Young Women’s College Prep Charter School Foundation and Starbridge.
Laura leads the DR Women in Technology SIG, which is focused on providing education, thought leadership, and knowledge sharing among women in and around technology. The content of these events target women, and those who support them, who have an interest or role in technology, women in leadership, professional development and/or personal development professionals.
J. Michael Wood
Director of Membership
J. Michael (Mick) Wood is an attorney at Boylan Code, LLP, where is a member of the firm’s corporate department. Mick represents clients on a wide range of business matters including business formation, business acquisition and sale, supply and distribution agreements, sales representative agreements, lease agreements, and intellectual property matters (including software development, transfer and licensing agreements). Mick also has extensive civil litigation experience. His civil litigation practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation, real property disputes, commercial evictions, and trust and estate litigation.
Mick is a graduate of Cornell University and Albany Law School.
As DR’s Director of Membership, Mick works to direct and oversee membership activities for DR.
Natalie is a junior Media Management major at St. John Fisher College but is originally from Vestal, NY. At Fisher, she is involved in The PRIMA Group, Teddi Dance for Love Committee, Varsity Lacrosse, and Student Athletic Advisory Committee. She brings her experience as a social media intern for non-profit ROCovery Fitness with her to Digital Rochester. She is very excited to work with Digital Rochester this summer!
